“Five Continents Celebrate Chinese New year” Gala in Ottawa
中国文化绽放渥太华—《五洲同春》加拿大渥太华演出
On January 16, 2009, the “Five Continents Celebrate Chinese New year” Gala was held in Ottawa. This event, organized by the Federation of Chinese Oversea Chinese, brought to Canadian Chinese community not only the warm greetings from the motherland, but also opened a window for Canadian friends of fresh and lively Chinese culture. The artists showcased many art forms, including songs, instrumental music, folk dances, acrobatics, classic Chinese painting and calligraphy. Once again the China Broadcasting Classic Chinese Ensemble collaborated with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra on two famous festival Chinese music pieces, the “Spring Festival Overture” and “A Moonlit Night on the Spring River ”. The music was energetic and moving, while the dances were fascinating and mesmerizing. The most impressive performance was “music, chess, books and painting” where Chinese painters and a calligrapher, accompanied by Guqin music, painted a huge Chinese classic style painting “Spring filled garden”.
2009年1月 １６日晚，由中国侨联主办的《五洲同春》大型迎春歌舞晚会在加拿大首都渥太华上演。这台被誉为“海外春晚”的演出，不仅给加拿大华人带来了故国亲人的祝福，也向当地朋友提供了一个了解中国文化鲜活的窗口。
演出内容有民族歌舞、器乐、杂技、现场书画表演等。舞台设计简约、喜庆，具有浓郁的中国风情。中国广播民族乐团民乐队继去年之后，再度与渥太华交响乐团合作，奉献了《春节序曲》、《春江花月夜》等曲目。音乐引人入胜，舞蹈也优美迷人。最令人赞叹的节目是《琴棋书画》，其中中国画家徐湛、刘存惠和书法家刘少英３人伴着古琴曲现场共同完成了巨幅画作“春色满园”。
