Canada-China culture exchange year begins
The 2015-2016 China-Canada Year of People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges was launched at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver,Canada on April 13, 2015. The Opening Ceremony was organized by the China Ministry of Culture, the Canada-China Cultural Development Association, the Chinese Embassy in Canada, and the Council General of China in Vancouver, and many Canadian federal, provincial and municipal officials participated in the event.
At the Opening Ceremony, the China Traditional Music Orchestra performed several much loved classic Chinese music pieces such as Dance of Golden Snakes, Lovely Flowers and Bright Moon, and pieces that immersing modern music with traditional Chinese music. The artists’ brilliant and moving performances brought lasting applause.
As part of the Ceremony, the Amazing Hebei exhibition was also opened where photographs, paintings and artisan pieces were shown, demonstrating Hebei Province’s art history, development and, perspectives.
