Chinese New Year Carnival China 2015
Chinese New Year Carnival China 2015 (CNY Carnival China 2015) is one of China’s most celebrated cultural shows. It is a production by China Broadcasting Performing Arts Troupe from Beijing and hosted by Chinese Cultural Development Association and the North American Chinese Student association which tours around Canada from February 25th to March14th .
The tour in Ottawa will be hosted on Feb 25th at Centrepoint Theatre. This special tour to Canada is supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ottawa and the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Toronto. CNY Carnival China 2015 is a celebration of Chinese New Year with festive performances produced specially for audiences around the world.
It has toured around North America for seven consecutive years, and has performed 45 times in 24 cities in Canada and the United States. The performances will be held in six cities: Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Calgary. This year will be the 8th time for this show to be hosted in Canada, and it has become the most long-awaited show for Canadian Chinese community during Chinese New Year.
THE SHOW This Chinese New Year extravaganza is a theatrical hybrid, presenting cultural treasures of China from a new unique perspective. Made up of 60 top-level artists and entertainers, the China Broadcasting Performing Arts Troupe will dazzle audiences with their dynamic and multi-ethnic productions.
The magnificent history of Ancient China with varieties of ethnic groups such as Han, Uygur, Mongolian, Tibetan, Miao, Yi’s national art essence will be expressed through music, dance and visual performances featuring orchestra, magicians, dancers, singers, and acrobats, and modern pop music will also be presented to attract young audience, making this event a spectacular entertainment for the whole family. THE PERFORMING TROUPE The China Broadcasting Performing Arts Troupe has been performing for over ten years all over the world visiting Canada, United States, Europe, Australia and Asia. The troupe is dedicated to the development of Chinese cultural performance arts with the objective to promote the understanding of Chinese heritage, its multi-ethnic and multi-geographic richness to audiences around the world.
