Our Story
The Canada-China Culture Development Association (CCCDA) is a cultural organization dedicated to fostering artistic and cultural exchange between Canada and China. Since its founding in 2007, CCCDA has consistently facilitated collaboration between cultural and performing arts organizations in both countries, enriching community life while contributing to the promotion of Canada’s multiculturalism and strengthening the friendship between Canada and China.
Over the past two decades, CCCDA has presented hundreds of performances, cultural exhibitions, educational programs, and exchange initiatives in more than ten major cities across North America. Through these activities, the Association has created lasting and tangible cultural connections between the two countries while establishing a strong reputation as a professional leader in international cultural exchange.
Today, CCCDA serves as a leading platform connecting performing arts organizations, presenters, producers, and agents in Canada and China. It actively promotes international collaboration in contemporary dance, theatre, music, and emerging artistic disciplines, playing a pivotal role in advancing cultural exchange between the two nations.
As a leading presenter for major Canadian theatres and concert halls, CCCDA provides its partners with a diverse portfolio of outstanding artistic productions from China, including symphony orchestras, theatre, traditional Chinese orchestras, chamber music, dance, and opera. The Association has successfully organized numerous Canadian tours by acclaimed Chinese productions, including the stage plays Duan Jin (Broken Bonds), The Stage, and Teahouse; the Peking Opera Hamlet; and the dance dramas Mulan, The Plum in the Golden Vase, The Oriental Legend, The Life of a Pekin Opera Artist, and Dream of the Red Chamber. CCCDA has also presented tours by the National Peking Opera Company of China, the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, as well as large-scale gala productions such as Charming China and Happy Chinese New Year: Bringing Spring to All Continents.
In addition, CCCDA produced the Chinese New Year Flash Mob on Parliament Hill in Canada, organized tours and masterclass music camps for the Zhejiang Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Beijing Golden Sail Art Troupe, and helped present the Ottawa International Choral Festival. The Association has also organized numerous exhibitions featuring Chinese calligraphy, photography, and visual arts.
Beyond bringing Chinese artistic excellence to Canada, CCCDA has also assisted Canadian arts groups in participating in the Beijing International Choral Festival and touring throughout China. The Association is committed to introducing outstanding Canadian and North American artistic productions to Chinese audiences.
CCCDA’s mission is to promote mutual cultural exchange between Canada and China through the planning and presentation of international arts and cultural programs, fostering greater understanding, friendship, and people-to-people connections between the two countries.
